Voyager Submarine Tour (Honolulu)
The Voyager Submarine Tour was one of our favorite attractions on Honolulu. You take a bus to the Kewalo Basin and from there you board a catamaran shuttle which takes you out to the sub. The SM 100/500 Submarine was designed in Finland and built in Seattle, Washington. The SM 100 is the fastest passenger submarine in the world with a top speed of seven knots and capable of diving to 328 feet (though our dive was only about 100 feet.) You'll notice that the underwater photos contain a large amount of bluish color. As the sub goes deeper in the water, all of the sun's colors begin to reduce with blue (also known as actinic light) remaining. The blue is so prominent, that your teeth appear a yellowish green, and the fluorescent colors in your clothing begin to glow.
